TOURNAMENT:
The Ironman Elite Tournament series has been put on hold during the development of other Ironman Sports divisions.

IRONMAN ELITE RULES:

Ironman Elite tournaments are played 3 on 3 with no substitute players.  Games are played in two 6 minute halves with 2 minute warm-ups and 1 minute intermissions.  All teams are guaranteed 4 games minimum.

USA Inline Hockey rules apply  with the following exceptions:
1- There will not be face-offs after a cover by the goalie.  The goalie will place the puck behind the net for a teammate to play.  Opponents may not cross the goal line to go behind the net after the puck until the referee signals that play has resumed.
2- Minor penalties are only 1 minute in duration.  Major penalties are 3 minutes.
3- Teams cannot be shorthanded by more than 1 player.  If a second penalty occurs, it will be served consecutively.  The player called for the second penalty must relieve the first player in the penalty box.  The first penalty is not over, and the second penalty does not begin, until this transition occurs.
4- Gold & Silver medals are given for the top 2 teams in each division in the tournament.  Bronze medals for third place in divisions with the most teams.
Tiebreakers to determine what teams make the playoffs and ranked in what order are as follows: 1-Points (win = 2 points, tie = 1 point), 2-Wins, 3-Head-to-head record (if a 2 way tie), 4-Goals Allowed, 5-Goals Scored, 6-Shootout (sudden death).
Each team will be allowed 1 timeout per game, but the timeout is only 20 seconds long.  Stop clock in tied or 1 goal games in the last minute only.  (If a team is 2 goals behind and scores another goal with less than a minute remaining, we go to stop clock).
3 pucks will be provided each team for a quick warm-up.  Pucks-Up at 30 seconds remaining in the 2 minute warm-up.  That gives you 90 seconds to warm up your goalie, so be ready to jump on the rink as the horn sounds to end the previous game.
Wear your white or light colored jersey for home games and your dark jersey for away games.  The schedule will indicate which team is home or away for each game.  If you only have one jersey color make sure it does not resemble your opponents jersey.  If it does, request a jersey change.  Please use the bench appropriate for your team each game.  If you are the home team, put your stuff at the home team bench to avoid confusion.
There is an 8 goal mercy rule.  Yes, it has been proven that a team can give up more than 8 goals in a 12 minute game.  If the mercy rule applies in the first half, we will play out the period but cease stat-keeping.  If the mercy rule applies in the second half, the game will end immediately.
Forfeitures during qualifying round play will apply a -2 to the forfeiting teams points and eliminate their ability to be ranked #1 in the playoffs.  Any team that forfeits a game understands that the 4 game guarantee no longer applies to their team.  The team that won by forfeit will receive a win and a goal scored, but no individual statistics.  In cases where the team does not get 4 games actually played, other arrangements will be made.  WE DO NOT WANT FORFEITURES!
The rules for the Alternate:  This player only plays if one of the four roster players is injured and unable to play.  Once the Alternate plays, they are a permanent member of the roster for the rest of the tournament.  The injured player is not allowed to rejoin the roster.  The alternate may take over for a skater or the goalie.
